Welcome to
our website
www.cclaa.org, which is created by Comparative
Literature and Foreign Literatures Research Center in Shanghai Normal
University and Academic Committee of China Comparative Literature
Association (CCLAA). On this site, you will find information about
our efforts to serve scholars both at home and abroad who have a
strong interest in comparative literature. On this site, we attempt
to construct a platform for scholars who would like to share their
new research and have a communication with fellows in every part
of the world.
We
have “Cowrie” as the name of our site, for “Cowrie” is never
separated from us since the early years of our comparative literature
study in China. Cowrie was a Chinese Journal
of Comparative Literature founded by Professor Sun Jingyao and Mark
Bender, published by Lijiang Publishing House 1983 through 1988
in a total of six issues. For a few years Cowrie
was the only English-language journal in China that sought to promote
the awakening field of comparative literature in China. Cowrie
represents a one facet of the "coming alive" of young
intellectuals in China during the early and mid-1980s and offers
a look from another perspective at the world of Chinese comparative
literature studies of that era.
Now we have
eight columns on our site, namely, Academic News, Academic Works,
Classic Topics, Scholars’ Album, Resource Downloading, Online Translation,
Message Board, Cowrie Forum(BBS). On each columns, we offer both
classic and current resources and topics on academic research for
scholars.
